Every day was a struggle, filled with fear, pain, and the relentless grip of addiction to meth and heroin. Endocarditis had ravaged my body twice, leaving a hole in my heart. I was on the edge, ready for my life to end. This picture, taken by my mom when she came to rescue me, captures the depths of my despair. /span> A Testament to Resilience Tonight, I took a picture that tells a different story. No angles, no filters, just pure happiness. I am now 9 months clean. It wasn't an easy road—months of fighting in the hospital, surviving heart surgery, and slowly but surely gaining 40 pounds. I have a place to call home now, and my family and two cats have been my pillars of support. My journey is a testament to the power of recovery.
